The COVID-19 & Compassion Global Giving Guide

Without warning 2020 is exposing our vulnerabilities. As all the world thinks about all the world, desperation requires leaders to strategically care for people in the way of the Heavenly Father. The crisis requires skill, sacrifice, and servanthood. One way we help these “fathers” on the front lines is to actively support them. We’ve created the COVID-19 & Compassion Global Giving Guide to use as a guide for prayer and as a tool for generous giving.
National leaders bring skills from backgrounds in agriculture, engineering, medicine, education, or counseling, to name a few. They lead the way in their own cultures to sacrificially meet vast needs. Men serving as national ministry leaders and pastors care for orphans, widows, and the vulnerable. Committed to learning God’s truth and to developing their leadership skill, these servants follow the Heavenly Father’s example.
“A Father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families, he leads forth the prisoners with singing.” (Psalm 68:5-6)
During the global COVID-19 pandemic and in the events around Cyclone Amphan in the Bay of Bengal region, godly men have given fatherly care to the vulnerable.

In the COVID-19 & Compassion Global Giving Guide, we gathered a variety of needs served by godly men. In places like the mountains of Asia, in Bangladesh, Cuba, Haiti, India, Nepal, and in the Middle East, the Heavenly Father uses men to do what’s humanly impossible.
- Feed hundreds of the hungry.
- Face opposition and threats of death.
- Give all they have and more.
- Mentor the young to care for the old.
- Partner with governments for the good of people.
- Use soap and oil to open doors for the Gospel.
- Rebuild places of refuge storms have destroyed.
- Take news of Jesus where it’s never been heard.
- Display God’s glory in the midst of desperation.
As we hear about the heavy load carried by national partners who are servant-leaders, Fathers Day seems like a good day to come alongside them with active encouragement. Some countries honor Fathers in September, November, or March. This year, the nature of needs ushered in by COVID-19 and Cyclone Amphan prompt us to act now in rallying support to uplift godly men. Fathers.
